Fable Friends – Happy Spring

Hi again!  Construction work commences in the House of J tomorrow and I do not know if I will be able to access the Studio and/or the computer…so I am playing with a few challenges this afternoon.

Several clean and simple ones: CAS Colours & Sketches (#533) for the Layout; CAS on Friday (#279) for Easter; AAA Cards (#251) for Spring and/or Spring Colors.  Based on the sketch, I incorporated Just Add Ink (#693) Choosing Two – Circles and Sayings; Shopping Our Stash (#517) for something Round; and picking the colors from The Card Concept (#205) along with the Spring theme suggested by the inspiration photograph.

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Granny Apple Green cardstock.
• Focal Panel: (5⅜” x 4⅛”) Basic White cardstock.
  • The Bunny Rabbit from the retired Fable Friends stamp set was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
  • The Rabbit was stamped again on Masking Paper to be used as a Mask covering the original stamped Rabbit.
  • The Floral Circle image from the retired Medley Mix stamp set was stamped six times, two each of 2^nd Generation (stamped off once) with Granny Apple Green, Boho Blue and Bubble Bath inks.
  • The Rabbit Mask was removed and the Rabbit was colored with Stampin’ Blends Markers.  Colors chosen: Rabbit – Light Smoky Slate; Ears / Cheeks / Nose – Light Bubble Bath; Jacket – Light Boho Blue; and Buttons – Dark Granny Apple Green.
• Sentiment: (2½” x 1”) Bubble Bath cardstock scrap.
  • The greeting, Happy Spring, also from the Fable Friends stamp set was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and die-cut with the (2⅜” x ⅞”) Stitched Rectangle die from the Timeless Arrangements Dies set.
• Decoration: Granny Apple Green, Boho Blue and Bubble Bath cardstock scraps.
  • The Small Floral die, also from the Timeless Arrangements Dies set was selected and die-cut from the green and blue papers while three pink dots were punched out with a (⅛”) Handheld Punch.
  • The Mini-Bouquet was assembled and added to the Sentiment Label.

The completed Panel was adhered to the card base for a very sweet clean and simple Easter/Spring card.
