Wild Ferns – Double Z-Fold

Welcome to the second of the Design Team Challenges.  At Cardz 4 Guyz (#342), this round, we are looking for Fun-Fold cards.  I opted for a Double-Z Fold and kept it simple with just stamps, inks and paper for a card suitable for a fellow.

Coincidently Double Trouble (#160) is partnering with Creative Creases (#76) to celebrate the 3rd Anniversary of Anything Goes with Creative Creases, a challenge dedicated to fun folds.

Here is the result:

WILD FERNS – GARDEN MEADOW – C4G432 – DT160 – CCC76

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼” and 2⅛”) Mossy Meadow cardstock.
  • Accent Panels: (4⅛” x 5⅜”) and 2 pieces (2” x 5⅜”) Lost Lagoon cardstock.
  • Decorative Panels: (4” x 5¼”) Diamond Pattern; 2 pieces (2” x 5¼”) Tweed Pattern Mossy Meadow and Lost Lagoon colored papers from the Poetic Expressions Designer Series Paper pack.
  • Z-Fold Base: (7” x 3½” scored at 3½” and 5⅜”) Mossy Meadow cardstock.
  • Z-Fold Panels: (3⅜” x 3⅜”); (2” x 3⅜”); and (1¼” x 3⅜”) Basic White cardstock.
    • All panels were stamped with 2nd Generation Lost Lagoon ink and the Linen Texture image stamp from the Wild Ferns stamp set.
    • The Leafy Fern image from the same stamp set was stamped several times with Mossy Meadow ink as was the sentiment, everyday is a fresh start, from the On-Line Exclusive Garden Meadow stamp set on the square front panel.
    • A few of the Ferns were colored with the Light Mossy Meadow Stampin’ Blends Marker.
    • The Fiddlehead Fern image was also stamped with Mossy Meadow ink onto the smaller panel and colored with the same Stampin’ Blends Marker.

All panel elements were adhered in place.  The Z-Fold top piece was aligned through the center of the card to create the fun fold card.

Masculine color choices for a #simplestamping encouragement card.

Thanks for spending some more of your time with me today and I hope you will consider joining us as I would love to see what you create.  Cheers,  Jolanda!

PS:  It might be a stretch but Ferns in the wild propagate via spores that need to hop, leap or otherwise attach themselves to move along so they can carry on…

  5. Wow, love the patterned papers you used, and the fern stamds in second generation are perfect for that textured paper… handsome but beautiful card. And as much as I like your fern used for optional twist, sorry not a critter; but good try… lol Thanks for sharing with us at Double Trouble and Creative Creases.
