Enduring Beauty – Wonderful Wishes

Hi!  Back again for the Facebook Case-ing Tuesday (#448) sketch where we take a sample from a current Stampin’ Up! Catalog and change it up. A little or a lot. Today’s sample can be found on page 46 of the Jan – Apr Mini Catalog.

I was inspired by color.  Several challenges are highlighting purple and blue…

Just Add Ink (#689), Just Us Girls (#714), and Beautiful Blossoms (#14), so I opted for a floral image and sharing this card with Stampin’ Up! Only (#345), who is also looking for a favorite floral image.

Here is the result:

ENDURING BEAUTY – CHARMING SENTIMENTS – ARTISTICALLY INKJED – DETAILED DOGWOOD – CT448 – JAI689 – JUGS714 – BBC014 – SUOC345

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Basic White cardstock.
  • Support Panel: (4” x 5¼”) Gorgeous Grape cardstock.
    • The sentiment, Wishing you everything wonderful, from the Charming Sentiments stamp set was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with White Embossing Powder.
  • Upper Diagonal Panel: (4¼” x 5½”) Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper.
    • Using the Watercolor Swirl image from the Artistically Inked stamp set, both Gorgeous Grape and Tahitian Tide inks were added randomly and overlapping.
    • Using a water filled Stampin’ Spritzer, the Watercolor Paper was sprayed and the colors were allowed to mingle while it dried.
    • Once dry, the Floral image from the Enduring Beauty stamp set was also stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with White Embossing Powder.
    • The panel was trimmed to (4”) and then ruled off on the diagonal at (3⅞”) on the left and (2⅜”) on the right.
    • The bottom of the panel was fussy-cut with Paper Snips to let part of the Floral Leaves be available for an overlap.
  • Diagonal Accent Strips: (5” x ¼”) Gorgeous Grape cardstock scrap and (5” x ⅝”) Tahitian Tide cardstock scrap.
    • Tone-on-Tone Dots were added to the Tahitian Tide strip with Tahitian Tide ink using the Dotted Strip image from the Detailed Dogwood stamp set.

The water-colored Floral Upper Panel was adhered to the Gorgeous Grape Support Panel and the Gorgeous Grape Accent Strip was tucked up under the cut Leaves.  The Tahitian Tide Accent Strip was then tucked in.  A Basic White Baker’s Twine Bow was tied and added to complete the card.

Such a pretty card.  So suitable for many occasions.
