Seasonal Sparkle

Welcome back!  The beginning of a new week and I am looking backward or forward depending on how view the Holidays.

Over at Jingle Belles (#2401), the challenge is to recycle holiday wrapping paper (or other holiday stuff) before you put it way but also get ready for the coming holiday season.

In the House of “J”, we use and reuse Gift Bags. So, the closest to wrapping paper that can be found will be Tissue Paper, so that is what I started with.

I am also sharing this card with Just Us Girls (#709) for the Word of the Week – Sparkle and Krafty Chicks (#698) for their monthly Christmas Week theme.

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Brushed Silver cardstock (retired and still in my stash).
• Background Panel: (4” x 5¼”) Basic White cardstock and piece of Shiny Red Metallic flicked tissue paper.
  • The tissue paper was wrapped around the cardstock and secured with scotch tape.
• Center Panel – Focal image: (2¼” x 5¼”) Basic White cardstock and piece of Red/Silver Ornament tissue paper.
  • Again, the tissue paper was wrapped around the cardstock.
• Accent Mat: (2⅝” x 4¾”) Poppy Parade cardstock.
• Ribbon Trim Accent: (⅛” x 4¾”) Silver Ribbon Trim (from the On-Line Exclusive (⅛”) Silver and Gold Combo Pack)
• Sentiment: (3½” x 1¼”) Basic White cardstock scrap.
  • The sentiment, May your season Sparkle, from the retired Add a Little Glitz stamp set was stamped with Versamark and heat-set with Silver Embossing Powder.
  • The sentiment was fussy-cut trimmed with Paper Snips.

All elements were adhered to the card base to show off the tissue papers and the sparkly bits.  The Center Panel and the Sentiment were both popped up with Dimensionals.

Card Number One for the 2024 Christmas season – done!
