Timeless Charm – Floral Thanks

Good Morning!  The Thanksgiving Holiday Weekend has started in the House of J.  A quick little card to make a couple of deadlines…

Are you a purse and/or bag lover?  I know that I am attracted to all things pretty and the inspiration photo from Time Out (#251) of the lovely Floral Bag provided the basis for my overall sketch design and choice of patterns. I selected the color palette suggested by The Flower Challenge (#86) because who doesn’t like black and white with a pop of color?

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Basic Black cardstock.
• Accent Mat: (4⅞” x 3⅝”) Basic White cardstock.
• Background Panel Top: (4¾” x 2⅛”) Floral patterned piece of paper from the retired True Love Designer Series Paper pack.
• Background Panel Bottom: (4¾” x 1⅜”) Scroll patterned piece of paper from the same paper pack.
• Decoration – Primroses: The Roses were fussy-cut with Paper Snips from another of the Floral patterned pieces of paper from the same paper pack.
  • The Roses were colored with Stampin’ Write Markers.  Colors chosen: Light and Dark Lemon Lolly, Light and Dark Daffodil Delight and Light and Dark Smoky Slate.
• Sentiment Label: Basic Black cardstock scrap.
  • The sentiment, thanks, from the Timeless Charm stamp set was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with White Embossing Powder.
  • The Sentiment was hand-flagged with Paper Snips.

All elements were adhered to the card base and the Roses were popped up with Dimensionals.

There is something so friendly about yellow roses.  They are one of my favorites.
