Les Shoppes Craft Store

Welcome back!  It’s Tuesday…Design Team Day…

Facebook’s Case-ing Tuesday (#435) can be found on page 14 of the Sep-Dec Mini Catalog for this week’s sketch, and I took a few liberties with my design.

Additional inspiration provided by Cupcake Inspirations (#582) for the Home Sweet Home theme and for me that is the Craft Shop (aka Stampin’ Up!) and the colors suggested by Just Add Ink (#679).  I have also decided to share this card with Jan’s Digi Stamps for their final blog challenge.

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Pool Party cardstock.
• Background Panel: (4⅛” x 5⅜”) Basic White cardstock dry-embossed with the Exposed Brick 3D Embossing Folder that had been colored with Pool Party ink to bring out the texture.
• Accent Mat: (3” x 4¼”) Calypso Coral cardstock die-cut with that same sized die from the Deckled Rectangles Dies set.
• Focal Background: (2⅝” x 3⅞”) Petal Pink cardstock die-cut with that same-sized die, also from the Deckled Rectangles Dies set.
  • The Panel was dry-embossed with the Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder.
• Focal Image – Craft Shop – The Two-Story Craft Shop was fussy-cut with Paper Snips from one the patterned pieces of paper in the Les Shoppes Designer Series Paper pack chosen for the overall Petal Pink/ Calypso Coral tones.
  • The “white” stripes on the Awning and Window Shutters were colored with the Dark Pool Party Stampin’ Blends Marker to add the color to the scene.
• Sentiment: Basic White cardstock scrap.
  • The sentiment, Life is better when you’re crafting, from the Crafting with You stamp set was stamped with Calypso Coral ink and also fussy-cut with Paper Snips.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch.  The Focal Panel was off set from center to better accommodate the Sentiment.  The Craft Shop and the Sentiment were both popped up with Dimensionals.
