Whip It Up Wednesday – Simple Stamped Cards

Welcome back!  Today, I am featuring a really simple card template that can be used for a series of cards that can be whipped up quickly.

Here is the Template and the Accent Cut Pattern:

I am sharing these cards with the October Stampin’ Up! Simple Stamping challenge and the October Happy Little Stampers Birthday challenge.

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Bases: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Granny Apple Green and Fresh Freesia cardstock.
• Accent Mat: (3¼” x 4⅝”) Pretty Peacock and Night of Navy cardstock.
• Rectangle Strips: (3” x 4”) Designer Series Paper: Delightful Floral Leaf pattern and Delightfully Eclectic Navy Floral pattern.
  • The patterned paper was cut into 4 strips (3” x 1”)
  • The strips were adhered to the respective Accent Mats.
• Thank You Card Sentiment Label:
  • The sentiment, Thank You, from the Inked & Tiled stamp set was stamped onto a piece of Basic White cardstock with Pretty Peacock ink and trimmed to (1⅜” x 1⅛”).
  • A piece of Pretty Peacock cardstock was trimmed to (1⅝” x 1⅜”) for the Accent Mat.
• Birthday Card Sentiment Label:
  • The sentiment, Happy Birthday, also from the Inked and Tiled stamp set was stamped onto a piece of Basic White cardstock with Night of Navy ink and punched out with the (1½”) Circle Punch.
  • A piece of Night of Navy cardstock was punched out with the (1¾”) Circle Punch for the Accent Mat.

All elements were arranged on the card bases to resemble the sketch.  For interest, the sentiments were popped up with Dimensionals.  Additionally the cards were stepped up with a bit of coordinating ribbon, the retired Open Weave Ribbon colors Soft Succulent and Fresh Freesia.

With one 12” x 12” patterned piece of paper, three (for accent mats) and six (for card bases) coordinating cardstock colors and one (for sentiments) neutral cardstock sheet, you can make 12 great cards!  Give it a try!
