Honey Bee – Thank You

Welcome back!  A start of a new week of creativity.  Are you game?

Over at Just Us Girls (#692) the theme is Bee; Over at Make My Monday (#207) the task is three of anything; Over at As You See It (#305) we are given a “recipe” of items to use; and bringing it all together, I chose the TGIF (#433) sketch.

Here is the result:

HONEY BEE – GRASSY GROVE – JUGS692 – MMM207 – AYSI305 – TGIFC433

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Crushed Curry cardstock.
  • Background Panel: (5⅜” x 4⅛”) Gold & White Small Floral patterned piece of paper from the retired Ornate Garden Specialty Designer Series Paper pack.
  • Bottom Cross Strip: (5⅜” x 2”) Gold & White Daisy Floral patterned piece of paper, also from the retired Ornate Garden Specialty Designer Series Paper pack.
    • The Flowers and Leaves were colored with Stampin’ Blends Markers.  Colors chosen: Flowers – Light and Dark Daffodil Delight and Leaves – Light and Dark retired Mint Macaron.
    • The Floral Strip top edge was fussy cut with Paper Snips.
  • Circle: (2½”) Vellum die-cut with the Stitched Circle die from the Stylish Shapes Dies set.
  • Sentiment Label and Corner Tuck: (1¼” x 1¼”) and (2¼” x ⅝”) Distressed Gold Specialty Paper scraps.
    • The square was added to the top left corner of the Background Panel and folded over at about (1”).
    • The sentiment, Thank You, from the Grassy Grove stamp set was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with White Embossing Powder.
  • Bees: Vellum.
    • The large and small Bee images from the retired Honey Bee stamp set were stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with Black Embossing Powder.
    • The Bees were die-cut with the coordinating dies from the Detailed Bees Dies set.
    • The backs of the Vellum Bees were colored with the Dark Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends Marker.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch.  Three Wild Wheat 2023/2025 In-Color Dots were added to the centers of a few of the Flowers for a bit of bling.

A fun card to create.  Happy to have another Thank You card to send along…

  1. I really like the way you’ve coloured the DSP and added it over the top like this – it creates a lovely garden effect for the bees. All in all, it’s very summery and a great use of the ingredients. Lovely to have you back in the gallery at As You See It. 🙂

  2. That’s just so pretty – I am very partial to bee themed cards! I’m loving the shaded dsp against the piece you left uncoloured – so effective! Great way to incorporate our recipe elements at As You See It challenge
