Bird’s Eye View – Sweet Friend

Happy Sunday!  Combining two challenges with a deadline of today…

Let’s play with Color Hues (#69) and the Try Stampin’ On Tuesday (#618) sketch.

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Calypso Coral cardstock.
• Background Panel: (4” x 5¼”) Pool Party Loose Gingham patterned piece of paper from the Inked Botanical Designer Series Paper pack.
  • Two (2⅛”) circles were die-cut with the Stitched Circle die from the Stylish Shapes Dies set to match the sketch.
• Circle Shapes – Birds: (2¾” x 2¾”) Basic White cardstock.  Two pieces.
  • The two chosen Bird images from the Bird’s Eye View stamp set were stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
  • Using the Fine-Tipped Water Painter Brush and color picked up from the Ink Pad Lids , the Birds were water-colored.  Colors chosen: Calypso Coral, Coastal Cabana and Azure Afternoon.
  • The Beaks were colored with the Light Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends Marker.
  • The Birds were then die-cut with the same Stitched Circle die and fitted back into the previous circle die-cuts in the Background Panel.
• Sentiment Label: Calypso Coral cardstock scrap.
  • The greeting, Hi, Sweet Friend, from the By My Side stamp set was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with White Embossing Powder and trimmed by hand with Paper Snips.
• Embellishments – Rhinestones: Three Rhinestone Basic Jewels were colored with Stampin’ Blends Markers.  Colors chosen Dark Calypso Coral and retired Coastal Cabana.

The sentiment was popped up with Dimensionals and the Rhinestones were adhered in place.

A super little greeting card to let a friend know that you are thinking about them.
