Bella is Wishing for a White Christmas

Thursday…and it is a hot one…and Bella is dreaming…of cooler days…

Having a play in the Studio and working with the Alphabet Letter “H” for Humour theme and going with Double Trouble (#143) for a Christmas in July and Santa Hat theme, and Crafter’s Cafe (#299) also a Christmas in July theme choosing the colors suggested by Inspired By (#248) and CASE-ing the Designer, Susan Wong’s project over at the Global Design Project (#404) for the layout and various elements.

Here is the result:

BELLA & FRIENDS – HALF FULL – ALPHABET Letter H – DT143 – IB248 – GDP404

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Basic White cardstock.
  • Accent Trim: (1” x 6”) Real Red/White Stars retired patterned piece of paper from my scrap bin trimmed to two pieces (1″ x 2¾”).
  • Background Panel: (2¾” x 4”) Night of Navy cardstock dry-embossed with the On-Line Exclusive Cross-Hatch Basics 3D Embossing Folder.
  • Focal Image – Bella: (2¾” x 4”) Basic White cardstock.
    • Bella in her Santa Hat sitting in the Snow was created last year for a class project.
    • Bella from the retired Bella & Friends stamp set was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and Masked.
    • The Tree and Snow scene (cannot remember which stamp set it was from) was then stamped also with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
    • The Mask was removed and scene was colored with Stampin’ Blends Markers.  Colors used: Bella – Smoky Slate; Collar – Real Red; Tree – Shaded Spruce; and Snow – Balmy Blue.
    • The scene was die-cut with the (2⅜” x 3¼”) Oval die from the retired Layering Ovals Dies set.
    • The Santa Hat (cannot remember which stamp set it was from) was also stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto a Basic White cardstock scrap, colored with the Real Red Stampin’ Blend Marker and fussy cut with Paper Snips.
  • Sentiment Tag Accent: (1” x 2⅜”) Real Red cardstock scrap.
  • Sentiment Tag: (⅞” x 2⅝”) Basic White cardstock scrap.
    • The sentiment, I’m dreaming of a white Christmas, from the retired Half Full stamp set was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with Silver Embossing Powder.
    • Both pieces were punched with the retired Lovely Labels Pick a Punch and layered together.
    • A Tag hole was punched and retired Smoky Slate Stitched Ribbon was thread through and tied.
    • Additionally, a Bow was tied and added to the Tag.

All elements were adhered in place to resemble the layout of the tag created by Susan Wong.  The Oval scene and the Tag were popped up with Dimensionals.

A fun little holiday card with sweet Bella all dressed up and waiting for a romp in the snow.
