Tropical Leaf – Thinking of You

Alas it is Week Four and this is my last Guest Designer card for Krafty Chicks (#674).  Week Four is All Occasions, and for this occasion I will be thinking fondly of my tenure for the month of July.  It was a pleasure and I thank Krafty Chicks for inviting me to participate.

My choices were influenced by the following challenges: Just Us Girls (#689) for a CAS Three of Something and Use Your Stuff (#489) for a Three Item Cluster.  I selected the Creative Colour (#99) colors with the Sunday Stamps (#314) sketch.

Sentiment and products used were further influenced by the Stampin’ Up! Simple Stamping suggestion for July. On-Line Exclusive Products: Tropical Leaf Bundle, Basics 3D Embossing Folders and Radiating Stitches Dies.

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Basic White cardstock
• Background Panel: (5¼” x 4”) Basic White cardstock dry-embossed with the Cross-Hatch Basics 3D Embossing Folder.
• Accent Mat: (4” x 2⅝”) Lemon-Lime Twist cardstock die-cut with that same sized Rectangle die from the Radiating Stitches Dies set.
• Sentiment Panel: (3⅜” x 2”) Basic White cardstock.
  • The sentiment, Thinking of you today, from the By My Side stamp set was stamped with Poppy Parade ink.
  • The panel was also die-cut with the smaller Rectangle die from the Radiating Stitches Dies set.
• Decoration – Tropical Leaves: Basic White cardstock scraps.
  • The Larger Leaf image from the Tropical Leaf stamp set was stamped three times with Pool Party, Lemon-Lime Twist and Poppy Parade inks.
  • The coordinating Leaf Vein image was stamped with Coastal Cabana, Granny Apple Green and Cherry Cobbler inks, respectively.
  • The Leaves were punched out with the coordinating Tropical Leaf Punch.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch with the Leaves intertwined and popped up with Dimensionals.  Perhaps the sentiment isn’t as bold as suggested but the tropical leaves sure are!
