Sweet Apple Harvest – Thanks

Tuesday – Design time: Facebook Case-ing Tuesday (#418).  Using the Stampin’ Up! Catalog Samples for inspiration and changing none, some or all the elements as you recreate a card is such a great place to start…

Today, I was inspired by Ellibelle’s I Spy With My Little Eye (#4) – A Sweet Treat choosing the As You See It (#303) Color Board and sharing with Happy Little Stampers (July) for Water Coloring.

Here is the result:

APPLE HARVEST – SKETCHED PLAID – CT418 – EIS004 – AYSI303 – HLS Watercolor July

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Tahitian Tide cardstock.
  • Diagonal Panel: (4¼” x 5½”) Basic White cardstock.
    • The panel was stamped with the Sketched Plaid Background stamp with Tahitian Tide ink.
    • The panel corners were trimmed on the diagonal @ (2½”) along the sides and (1½”) along the top and bottom.
  • Accent Mat: (3½” x 4¾”) Poppy Parade cardstock.
  • Focal Panel: (3⅜” x 4⅝”) Basic White cardstock.
    • The Apple Branch image from the Apple Harvest stamp set was stamped with Gray Granite ink onto the Silicone Craft Mat.
    • The panel was pressed in place to obtain the reverse image on the right-hand side.
    • The Apple Branch image was stamped again directly to the panel on the left-side also with Gray Granite ink.
    • The scene was water-colored using the Fine-Tipped Water Painter Brush picking up ink from the Ink Pad Lids.  Colors: Branches – Crumb Cake; Blossoms – Faint Poppy Parade and Crumb Cake; Apples – Poppy Parade; Apple Flesh – Crumb Cake and Soft Sea Foam; Leaves – Gray Granite with a light Soft Sea Foam wash; and Background – Light Tahitian Tide wash.
  • Label Accent: (2½” x ¼”) Gray Granite cardstock scrap.
  • Sentiment Label: 2” x ⅝”) Basic White cardstock scrap.
    • The sentiment, Thanks for your kindness, also from the Apple Harvest stamp set was stamped with Poppy Parade ink.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch.  The sentiment was popped up with Dimensionals and a few Frosted Gems from my stash were added.

Looking forward to seeing what you create.  Join us at Case-ing Tuesday.

  3. A lovely CASE, Jolanda. Your watercolouring is lovely, especially against the clever mix of horizontal, vertical and diagonal in the background. Thanks for joining in with us again at As You See It.
