Two Hearts – Wedding Card

Welcome back!  So happy that you can join me as I play in the Studio.

Today’s card was inspired by Can You Handle The Pressure (#33) with a Wedding theme, adding Flowers for Use Your Stuff (#486) and picking the colors suggested by Less Is More (#485), Beautiful Blossoms (#6) and If You Give a Crafter a Cookie (#181) for this week’s Facebook Case-ing Tuesday (#413) Sketch.

Here is the result.

BRUSHED SHAPES – SIMPLY SOFT – HAPPY & HEARTFELT – ARTISTICALLY INKED – CT413 – LIM485 – UYS486 – CYHTP33

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Basic Black cardstock.
  • Background Panel: (4⅛” x 5”) Basic White cardstock.
    • The Watercolor Swirl image from the Artistically Inked stamp set was stamped with 2nd Generation (stamped-off once) Highland Heather ink.
    • Using the Big Shot Embossing Mats, my Big Shot Embossing Machine and the Heart die from the retired Brushed Shapes Dies set, the intertwined Hearts were dry-embossed over the Swirl.
    • The sentiment, congratulations, from the retired Happy & Heartfelt stamp set was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
  • Ribbon: (¾” x 3⅜”) Basic Black cardstock scrap.
    • The strip was glittered with the Wink of Stella Glitter Brush and dry-embossed with the retired Subtle 3D Embossing Folder to look like a piece of ribbon.
  • Focal Panel: (2” x 2⅝”) Basic White cardstock.
    • The Floral image from the retired Simply Soft stamp set was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
    • The Two-Step In-Fill Floral image was added with Highland Heather ink.
    • The panel edges were colored using the Highland Heather Stampin’ Write Marker for a bit of definition.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch. The Floral panel was popped up with Dimensionals.

A very clean and sophisticated wedding card.  I like it!

  1. That’s so pretty, I love the technique of using the dies to dry emboss. Thanks for playing along with us at Can You Handle the Pressure!
