Perched in a Tree – Kindness

Hi! Welcome back.  Working with this week’s Facebook Case-ing Tuesday (#411) sketch.

Having a play with the Perched in a Tree stamp set and mixing in the new neutral color Copper Clay for the challenges Can You Handle the Pressure (#32) and incorporating additional colors for Color Dare (#550).

Here is the result:

PERCHED IN A TREE – CT411 – CYHTP32 – CD550

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Very Vanilla cardstock.
  • Background Panel: (5½” x 4”) Copper Clay and Crumb Cake Wooden Textured patterned piece of paper from the Earthen Elegance Designer Series Paper pack added for interest.
    • A portion of the Branch image was added to the lower right corner with 2nd Generation (stamped off once) Copper Clay ink.
  • Cross Panel: (5½” x 2½”) Copper Clay cardstock (for a neutral and a darker tone of Dessert Rose)
    • The Panel was dry-embossed with the On-Line Exclusive Floral-Star Basics 3D Embossing Folder.
  • Sentiment Panel: (2½” x 2”) Very Vanilla cardstock scrap.
    • The sentiment, Your kindness warms my heart, was stamped with 2nd Generation Copper Clay ink and adhered in place on the embossed Cross Panel.
    • The Branch image was also stamped across the bottom of the Panel with Copper Clay ink.
  • Decoration – Birds: Very Vanilla cardstock scraps.
    • The top Bird image was stamped with 2nd Generation Copper Clay ink.
    • The bottom Bird image was stamped onto the Silicone Craft Sheet and the cardstock was pressed against it to get the reverse image using the Reflection Technique.
    • The Birds were colored with a Blender Pen dipped into the ink colors and applied in a feathering (small stroke) style.  Colors were picked up from the ink pad lid and colors chosen were retired Wisteria Wonder (for Wisteria), Sweet Sugarplum (for Desert Rose) and Crisp Cantaloupe (for Melon) for the Body, Upper Breast and Wings, respectively.
    • The Birds were fussy cut with Paper Snips.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch.  The Birds were popped up with Dimensionals.

Cozy warm colors for a couple of sweet Birds. A lovely thank you card.
