Pretty Pink Posies – Paper Florist Dies

Welcome back!  I wanted to play with a few goodies that are in the new catalog…mostly making Paper Flowers with the Paper Florist Dies and I chose to add some to this card I made today.

The challenges: Try Stampin’ on Tuesday’s (#607) sketch and inspiration with the colors suggested by Color Throwdown (#744)

The Flowers I created were a little bigger than I thought they would be, so I flipped the sketch to better accommodate them.  Here is the result:

PAPER FLORIST DIES – HAPPY LABELS – TSOT607 – CTD744

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Smoky Slate cardstock
  • Background Panel: (5” x 3¾”) Basic White cardstock.
  • Top Panel: (4½” x 3”) Gold Tinted Vellum from my stash standing in for the suggested Kraft color.
    • The sentiment, Just a note, from the Happy Labels stamp set was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with Copper Embossing Powder also standing in for the Kraft color.
    • The Background and Top Panels were adhered to each other and dry-embossed together with the Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder.
  • Banner: (5½” x ⅜”) Moody Mauve Texture Ribbon.
  • Focal Image(s) – Flowers: (3” x 8½”) Bubble Bath cardstock die-cut with one of the Flower dies from the Paper Florist Dies set.
    • The Four Floral pieces were sponged with Bubble Bath ink using a Sponge Dauber and curled with a Bone Folder and pressed with the Large Stylus ball option in the Take Your Pick Multipurpose tool.
  • Accents – Flower Centers & Leaves: Smoky Slate cardstock scraps.
    • Floral Centers from the Paper Florist Dies set and the Leaves from the retired Summer Shadows Dies set.
    • The Leaves were also sponged with Smoky Slate ink.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch.   The 3D Flowers were popped up with Dimensionals and the Leaves were tucked in.

What a pretty, special card…looking forward to creating many more flowers with this die set.
