Cheerful Daisies – You Made My Day

Welcome back! Happy Sunday.  Continuing to play with new goodies…today, a clean and simple (CAS) card using the Cheerful Daisies Bundle.

The challenges: Less Is More (#484) for a single layer floral card using colors inspired by the current Inkspirational (#290) Mood Board with the Freshly Made (#587) sketch.

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Basic White cardstock
• All stamping etc. was done on the card front.
  • The sentiment, YOU MADE MY DAY was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
  • A (2½” x ⅜”) strip of Masking Paper was cut on the diagonal and adhered over the sentiment.
  • The Larger Daisy Outline image was stamped with Mango Melody ink.
  • The matching Daisy In-Fill image was stamped with Petal Pink ink.
  • The Daisy Outline image was stamped again with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto Masking Paper and die-cut with the coordinating Daisy die and adhered over the stamped Daisy.
  • This process was repeated for the other two Daisy images.
  • Similarly, the three Leaves which were stamped with Mint Macaron ink, were masked.
  • The Floral Stem was then added with Mint Macaron ink.
  • Once everything was masked, Balmy Blue ink was added to the background using a Blending Brush.
  • All of the Floral Masking Paper was removed, and the Floral Centers were added with Mango Melody ink.
  • The sentiment Masking Paper was removed and the Label Outline was added with my Pentel 0.03 Fine Needle-tip Gel Pen using a Ruler.
  • Additional stippling was added to the Floral Centers with the Gel Pen as well for some definition.

And that was it! A sweet simple floral card with a big impact message.
