Helping Me Grow – Friend

Still catching up…always takes some time to get back into the groove when you take a break.

Several Challenges: Just Add Ink (#651) for the color and floral inspiration; Retro Rubber (#206) for the choices; Happy Little StampersStencils and Watercolor; The Flower Challenge (#80) as I opted for Flowers instead of Teacups; and Krafty Chicks (#662), a new one for me.

Bringing it all together, I chose the share only Facebook Case-ing Tuesday (#406) sketch.

Here is the result:

HELPING ME GROW – ARTISTIC MIX DECORATIVE MASKS – JAI651 – RRCB206 – HLS Stencil – HLS Watercolor – TFC80 – KCC662 – CT406

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Bubble Bath cardstock.
    • The word, Friend, from the retired Helping Me Grow stamp set (circa 2016) was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with White Embossing Powder in the lower right corner.
  • Stenciled Background Panels: (4¼” x 5½”) Basic White cardstock.
    • Using a Blending Brush, Bubble Bath, Fresh Freesia, Highland Heather and Moody Mauve inks, along with the Floral patterned Artistic Mix Decorative Mask, a panel was created.
    • The panel was cut horizontally at (2½”) and the larger piece was adhered diagonally across the bottom portion of the card and the other piece was adhered to the top portion.
  • Focal Image – Flowers: Basic White cardstock.
    • The Floral image from the same stamp set was stamped with Smoky Slate ink and water-colored with Bubble Bath, Fresh Freesia, Highland Heather, Moody Mauve and retired Pear Pizzazz inks using the Fine-Tipped Water Painter Brush.  Ink was picked up off a block that had been pressed into the ink pads.
    • Once dry, the Flowers were fussy cut with Paper Snips.

The Flowers were adhered to the card with Dimensionals and the Stems were tied together with a bit of retired Old Olive Linen Thread.

A pretty pastel pink floral card for a special friend.
