Happy Hour

Welcome back!  Another CAS (clean and simple) card for you today.  How about something tropical on this never ending dark rainy day?

Challenges: Just Us Girls (#676) for theme and the style; Cupcake Inspirations (#567) for the colors; and Paper Players (#637) for the sketch.

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Daffodil Delight cardstock.
• Background Panel: (4” x 5¼”) Basic White cardstock.
  • The Scallop image (Top of Ribbon Medallion) from the retired Blue Ribbon stamp set was stamped with Daffodil Delight ink.
  • The panel was dry-embossed with the Cross-Hatch Basics 3D Embossing Folder.
• Cross Strip: (4” x 1¾”) Silver Dotted patterned piece of paper from the retired Silver & Gold Specialty Designer Series Paper pack colored with Melon Mambo ink applied with a Blending Brush.
• Focal Image Domed Rectangle: (1¾” x 2¾”) Basic White cardstock.
  • The Cocktail Glass, Lemon Wedges and Drink Umbrella images from the retired Happy Hour stamp set were stamped with Mango Melody, Daffodil Delight and Melon Mambo inks, respectively.
  • Using a (1⅜”) Circle Punch, a template was created from Copy Paper and used to cut the top edge of the cardstock so that it would fit within the Circle of the Scallop and along the edge of the Cross Strip.
• Sentiment Banner: (2⅝” x ½”) Mango Melody cardstock scrap.
  • The sentiment, Any hour spent with you is HAPPY HOUR!, from the same stamp set was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then die-cut with the Stitched Banner die from the Stylish Shapes Dies set.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch.

Wishing the sun was shining and that we were enjoying a cocktail on the back patio.
