Fable Friends – Happy Spring

Welcome back!  Happy Monday!

Several fun challenges influenced this particular card.

Festive Friday (#130) for a number of the items listed and I chose the retired stamp set Fable Friends, as it loosely reminds me of the Peter Rabbit series of books; the new I Spy With My Little Eye (#1) for a Critter; the colors suggested by Just Add Ink (#644); and bringing it all together I chose the Saturday Sketch (#721).

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Basic White cardstock.
• Background Panel: (4” x 5¼”) Gorgeous Grape Dotted patterned piece of paper from the 2022/2023 Brights Collection Designer Series Paper pack.
• Ribbon Strip: (⅝” x 5¼”) Mango Melody Square patterned piece of paper from the now retired Sale-a-bration Dandy Designs Designer Series Paper pack.
• Square One: Basic White cardstock scraps.
  • The Squirrel image was stamped twice with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
  • One image was die-cut with the (1⅞” x 1⅞”) Stitched Square die from the Stylish Shapes Dies set.
  • The other image was colored with Stampin’ Blends Markers.  Flower – Light and Dark Mango Melody; Leaf and Stem – Light and Dark Granny Apple Green; Hat and Shirt – Dark Highland Heather; and Squirrel – Light and Dark Crumb Cake.
  • The colored image was fussy-cut with Paper Snips and popped up over the other image on the die-cut Square with Dimensionals.
• Square Two: Granny Apple Green cardstock scrap.
  • The sentiment/greeting, Happy Spring, was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with White Embossing Powder.
  • The greeting was die-cut with the same sized Stitched Square die.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch. What happy colors and what a sweet image to welcome spring.
