Petal Park – Floral Birthday

Welcome back!  Have you had a good week?  It is already Friday…how can that be?

This morning I am playing with the Atlantic Hearts (#516) Sketch and chose the color combination from Creative Colour (#80).

Here is the result:

PETAL PARK BUNDLE – FRIENDS ARE LIKE SEASHELLS – AHSC516 – CCC80

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Very Vanilla cardstock.
  • Background Panel: (4” x 5¼”) Very Vanilla cardstock and Crushed Curry, Blushing Bride and Pale Papaya cardstock scraps.
    • The colored cardstock pieces were trimmed to (2” x 1¾”) and dry-embossed with the Cross-Hatch Basics 3D (Crushed Curry), the Floral Star Basics 3D (Blushing Bride) and the Timeworn Type 3D (Pale Papaya) Embossing Folders.
    • The colored cardstock was adhered to the Very Vanilla base panel.
  • Focal Image Panel: (2½” x 3¾”) Very Vanilla cardstock.
    • The Leaf Outline image from the Petal Park stamp set was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
    • The Tiny Leaf Spray was colored with the retired Medium Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blendabilities Marker.
  • Decoration: Very Vanilla cardstock scraps.
    • The Floral Trio Outline image from the same stamp set was also stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink three times.
    • The Flowers were colored with both the Light and Dark Pale Papaya and retired Pink Pirouette Stampin’ Blends Markers.
    • The Flowers were punched out with the coordinating Petal Park Builder Punch.
  • Accent Banner: (3½” x ⅜”) Blushing Bride cardstock scrap dry-embossed with the retired Subtle 3D Embossing Folder and hand-flagged with Paper Snips.
  • Sentiment Label: (3” x ¾”) Very Vanilla cardstock scrap.
    • The sentiment, HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my beautiful friend, from the Friends Are Like Seashells stamp set was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
    • The sentiment was die-cut with the Label die from the Meadows Dies set.
    • The little loops were trimmed off with Paper Snips.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch.  Several Flowers and the Sentiment Banner were popped up with Dimensionals.

A very pretty birthday card.

  1. What a beautiful card. I love the soft colors and the use of embossing to differentiate the squares of the background panel. Thank you for joining us this week at the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge and look forward to seeing you again soon!

  2. Love all the texture you achieved with the embossing folders. I like how you repeated the colors of the embossed pieces in the flowers. Thanks for joining us at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.
