Love Ya – Be My Valentine

Hey there, while the stamp set, Be My Valentine, was still out on my work table, I thought I would use it for the Tuesday Morning Sketch Challenge (#693).

Additional Challenges that influenced my choices: As You See It (#291) for the colors, Make My Monday (#193) and the Facebook Joy of Sets (February) for the theme.

Here is the result:

BE MY VALENTINE PAPER PUMPKIN JAN 2019 – TMS693 – AYSI291 – MMM193 – JOY OF SETS Feb 2023

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Basic White cardstock.
  • Back ground Panel: (5” x 3¾”) Basic White cardstock dry-embossed with the retired Happy Hearts Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.
  • Strips: Basic White cardstock scraps colored with the Light Sweet Sorbet, Night of Navy, Polished Pink and Tahitian Tide Stampin’ Blends Markers.
    • The sentiment, Love ya, from the January 2019 Paper Pumpkin Kit – Be My Valentine stamp set was stamped with Sweet Sorbet ink on to the Polished Pink colored strip.
  • Focal Image – Birds: Basic White cardstock scrap.
    • The two Bird images were stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with the same Stampin’ Blends Markers along with the retired Dark Mango Melody used for the Bird Beaks.
    • The tiny Hearts image was stamped between the two Birds with Polished Pink ink.
    • The completed image was die-cut with one of the rectangle shaped dies from the Something Fancy Dies set.
    • The edge of the die-cut was colored using the Night of Navy Stampin’ Write Marker for a little definition.

All elements were adhered to the resemble the sketch but flipped to the horizontal position.  The Birds were popped up with Dimensionals, completing a cute Valentine card.
