Bamboo Beauty – Good Luck!

A brand-new week…what will you do with it?  I am chasing a few deadlines as I ran out of time yesterday.

Sketch: Freshly Made (#547), Inspiration: Just Add Ink (#615) and Colors: Color Throwdown (#704).

Here is the result:

BAMBOO BEAUTY – CHARMING SENTIMENTS – FMS547 – JAI615 – CTD704

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Basic White cardstock.
  • Top Panel: (3” x 4¼”) Crumb Cake cardstock dry-embossed with the Timber 3D Embossing Folder.
  • Bottom Panels: (2½” x 1½”) Basic Black cardstock dry-embossed with the Stripes 3D Embossing Folder and (2½” x 1¼”) Smoky Slate cardstock dry-embossed with the retired Hammered Metal 3D Embossing Folder.
  • Cross Strip: (1” x 4¼”) Soft Suede cardstock also dry-embossed with the 3D Timber Embossing Folder.  I added this strip to suggest the Transition Step between the Cabana and the Pathway as per the inspiration photograph.
  • Focal Image – Bamboo: Basic White cardstock scraps.
    • The Bamboo Stalks and Leaves from the Bamboo Beauty stamp set were stamped with Garden Green ink and then fussy cut with Paper Snips.
    • The “white” edges were softened with a Blender Pen.
  • Sentiment Label: (2” x 2”) Basic White cardstock scrap.
    • The sentiment, Good Luck, From the Charming Sentiments stamp set was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
    • The sentiment was then die-cut with one of the Hexagon dies from the Beautiful Shapes Dies set.

The panels were adhered to the card base and the Bamboo Stalks and Leaves were added.  The sentiment was popped up with Dimensionals

Bamboo is a symbol of Good Luck, and this neutral natural colored card suits them very nicely.  Perfect for a retirement card or anytime you need to wish someone well.

  1. Bamboos would go wonderfully in the garden in the Just Add Ink inspiration image, you’ve got a great gardening eye as well as a flare for lovely cards. Thanks so much for playing along with us this week.
