You’re So Cool – Sweet Ice Cream

It is a hot one today and it got me thinking about Summer Treats.  Just had to pull out a great retired bundle for this card: The Sweet Ice Cream stamp set and the coordinating Ice Cream Cone Builder Punch.

Three Challenges:  Sketch – Paper Craft Crew (#477); Themes – If You Give a Crafter a Cookie (#170) and Can You Handle the Pressure (#11).

Here is the result: 

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Pool Party cardstock.
• Three Strips: (1” x 5”) Scalloped Dotted patterned piece of paper from the Hostess Design a Daydream Designer Series Paper pack.
• Rectangle Panel: (2” x 4”) Basic White cardstock dry-embossed with the retired Star-Crossed Embossing Folder to mimic the pattern of a waffle cone.
• Focal Image – Ice Cream Cone: Basic White cardstock scraps.
  • Cone: The base Cone was stamped with Daffodil Delight ink and over stamped with the Waffle image using Blackberry Bliss Ink.
  • Scoop (1): The Ice Cream Scoop was stamped with Pool Party ink and over stamped with Old Olive Sprinkles.
  • Scoop (2):  The Ice Cream Scoop was stamped with Petal Pink ink and over stamped with Coastal Cabana Sprinkles.
  • The Cone and Scoops were punched out using the coordinating punch.
• Sentiment Circle (1¼”) Blackberry Bliss cardstock scrap.
  • The sentiment, You are so cool, was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with White Embossing Powder and then punched out with the retired (1¼”) Circle Punch.

All of the elements were arranged to resemble the sketch.  The Ice Cream Cone and the Sentiment were popped up with Dimensionals.  I changed the sentiment rectangle to a circle because the circle shape suited the pattern in the paper better.

An Ice Cream Cone would be most welcome at the moment.  Nothing says Summer more.  But eat it quick before it melts!
