Several Challenges have a similar theme for the first week of January and as deadlines are looming, I created this card to suit them.
For Theme: Just Us Girls (#613) Beverage; For Theme: Paper Players (#572) Make 2022 Sparkle; For Color and Inspiration: Sunday Stamps (#273) Winter Bokeh and putting it all together, Sketch: Atlantic Hearts (#454).
Here is the result:
Steps:
- Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Night of Navy cardstock.
- Background Panel (5⅜ x 4⅛”) Night of Navy Cardstock. Bokeh Dot Treatment using Sponge Daubers.
- Versamark ink randomly stamped on cardstock and heat-embossed with Clear Embossing Powder to create the Night of Navy dots. This adds shimmer and shine.
- Whisper White Craft ink for the White dots and retired Pale Plum Craft ink for the pale pinky/purple color dots.
- I also added retired Delicata Golden Glitz Pigment ink for the golden yellow dots. At the right angle, the gold sparkles very nicely.
- To complete the Bokeh effect, I added smaller white dots using the Eraser end of a pencil.
- Upper Under Layer: (6” x ⅜”) Fresh Freesia Open Weave Ribbon wrapped around the Background Panel.
- Bottom Under Layer: (5⅜” x 1”) Retired Brushed Gold cardstock dry embossed with the retired Wrapped in Texture Embossing Folder.
- Triple Squares: (1⅜ “) Night of Navy cardstock. The Champagne Glasses from the retired Happy Hour stamp set and the Sparkle Bursts from the retired Pattern Play stamp set were stamped with the Delicata Golden Glitz Pigment ink and heat-set with Gold Embossing Powder. The images were then die-cut using the (1⅜”) square die from the retired Layering Squares Dies set.
- Square Accent Mats: (1⅝”) Fresh Freesia cardstock die-cut with another of the Layering Squares Dies set.
- Sentiment: (3½” x 1½”) Gold Foil cardstock die-cut with the retired Cheers Die.
All of the elements were adhered together. The squares were popped up with Dimensionals and a few Champagne Rhinestone Basic Jewels were added for a tiny bit of extra bling.
I opted to create an A2 card instead of a Slim Line card and I am happy with the result. Best Wishes to you all for 2022. May we continue to stay creative!
