Better Places – Hello

Clean and Simple – a style that is often hard to do because it is hard to resist just adding one more element.

I took on two challenges that included a similar theme.  Over at CASology (#396) the CUE CARD WORD is VIEW and over at Make My Monday (#160) the challenge was to create some type of Scenic Scape.

The sketch is my own and is a result of the Scenic Image stamp size.

Here is the result:

BETTER PLACES – INSPIRED THOUGHTS – CASology396 – MMM160

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Basic White cardstock.  The sentiment, HELLO, from the Inspired Thoughts stamp set was stamped directly to the card front with Evening Evergreen ink.
  • Accent Panel: (2⅝” x 2⅞”) Basic White cardstock dry-embossed with the retired Subtle 3D Embossing Folder.  Such a favorite of mine and so hard to resist using.
  • Accent Mat: (1¼” x 3”) Evening Evergreen cardstock.
  • Focal Image – Lake Sunset: (1” x 2¾”) Basic White cardstock.  The smaller Landscape image from the Better Places stamp set was stamped with Evening Evergreen ink.  The Sun was added to the scene using the eraser end of a pencil and dapped below in the Water using Mango Melody ink.  The rest of the scene was colored with a variety of Stampin’ Blends.  Sky and Water – Light Balmy Blue, Clouds – Dark So Saffron and Trees – Light Evening Evergreen.

Hope you like the card.  This is a #SimpleStamping card.  Just Stamps, Ink and Paper.  But as I said it is difficult not to add a little something and in this case a bit of subtle embossing…

Thanks for spending some of your time with me today.   Cheers, Jolanda!
