Happy Hello – Textures & Frames

How can a Studio called, the INQUE SPOT, not get excited about the “Ink Spot” stamp in the new Textures & Frames FREE Sale-a-bration stamp set?  It will a ‘keeper’ for sure!

In my recent – Celebration of Color Class, one of the cards created used many of the Bright’s Family of Colors and this stamp set.  When I was stamping off on my Grid Paper before cleaning the stamp on the Simply Shammy, the 2nd Generation colors were just lovely.  So, I decided to stamp a piece of Basic White cardstock “willy-nilly” with the stamps(s) before cleaning and stamping into the next color.  What I got was pretty amazing!

In effect, I created my own Patterned Paper and decided to use it to create a card for the Paper Player Challenge Sketch (#555).

Here is the result:

TEXTURES & FRAMES – BIGGEST WISH – CREATE WITH FRIENDS – PP555 – SU AUGUST #SIMPLE STAMPING CHALLENGE

Steps:

  • The ink colors used were: Gorgeous Grape, Bermuda Bay, Balmy Blue, Granny Apple Green, Daffodil Delight, Flirty Flamingo and Poppy Parade.
  • The hand-made stamped pattern paper was trimmed to (3½” x 4¾) and adhered to a Highland Heather card base (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) because it looked nice and matched the overall tone of the muted inks.
  • For the slanted rectangle shape, I chose to create a Vellum tag (2” x 3½”) using one of the Tag Topper Punches I had on hand, in this case, the retired Ornate Tag Punch.  I chose Vellum because I did not want to cover up the patterned paper I created.  I stamped the word, happy, from the Biggest Wish stamp set with Versamark ink and heat-set it with retired Pewter Embossing Powder because I wanted a “Gray” tone.  Silver Embossing Powder would have worked just as well. I also colored a piece of White Baker’s Twine (5″) with the Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blend. I added a little Isopropyl Alcohol to the twine to mute the brightness of the color.  The Twine was then looped through the hole to finish off the Tag.
  • For the sentiment label, I chose the word, HELLO, from the Create With Friends stamp set.  The word was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with White Embossing Powder on a scrap of Granny Apple Green cardstock (1¾” x ½”).

And, we are done…Wishing you a Happy Hello from the INQUE SPOT STUDIO!

Here are the two cards together.  YOU’RE AMAZING was the Class Card.  How fun and bright…
