Color & Contour – Friends

Thanks for joining me today.  I wanted to have another play with a few challenges that I have already participated in along with the next Stampin’ Through the Catalog stamp set choice: Color & Contour found on page 98 of the Annual Catalog.

I chose to play with another line from the current Tic Tac Toe board (#126) along with the sketch from TGIF (#329).

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Floral Cluster: Three Flowers from the Color & Contour stamp set were stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto a scrap of Basic White cardstock.  Using the two-step fill-in coordinating Floral stamp and Real Red ink the Floral Petals were colored.  The Flowers were then die-cut with the coordinating die from the Scalloped Contours Dies set.
• Accent Panel (1): (2⅝ x 4”) Black and White Cross Hatch patterned piece of paper from the Hostess Pattern Party Designer Series Paper pack.
• Accent Panel (2): (3⅛” x 4½”) Basic Black cardstock die-cut with one of the scalloped frame dies from the coordinating Scalloped Contours Dies set.
• The truncated sentiment, Friends, from the Positive Thoughts stamp set was stamped onto a scrap piece of Real Red cardstock (1⅝” x ½”) with Versamark ink and heat-set with Black Embossing Powder.

All of the elements were adhered to a Basic White card base (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) as per the sketch ensuring that the Flowers remained the primary focus.

This card meets the requirements for the current Flower Challenge (#59), so I decided to participate.

Again, Black and White with a pop of Color is always a great combination.  Have a favorite color?  Just use that one and the card will still be wonderful!
