No end of wonderful challenges to keep me busy…
Sketch – Try Stampin’ on Tuesday (#304); Subject – Seize the Birthday (#213) and Theme – Paper Players (#539).
And this is the result:
Steps:
- For my Furry Friend, I chose the Lion from the retired Wild About You stamp set. I tilted the Basic White cardstock piece (2½” x 3½”) as per the sketch. The Lion was inked using the Bumble Bee and Cinnamon Cider Stampin’ Write Markers and stamped to match the horizontal line of the card base. I added a few details to the Lion with the Early Espresso Stampin’ Write Marker.
- To fill in the white space, I chose to die-cut a section of the Trees from the Inspiring Canopy Dies from a piece of Cinnamon Cider cardstock and add it to the right-side of the focal panel.
- The angled accent panel (2½” x 3½”) is a piece of Cinnamon Cider patterned paper from the retired In-Color 2020/2021 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper pack.
- The oval element was punched from a piece of Bumble Bee patterned paper from the same Designer Series Paper pack with the retired Large Oval Punch.
- The sentiment, Happy Birthday, from the retired Itty Bitty Birthdays stamp set was stamped in Versamark ink and heat-set with White Embossing Powder on to another Cinnamon Cider scrap piece of patterned paper.
- I chose to add a background panel (4” x 5¼”) using So Saffron cardstock which I dry embossed with the Hammered Metal 3D Embossing Folder.
I opted for a Cinnamon Cider card base (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”). All the elements were arranged as per the sketch.
Imagine that! Our Furry Friend, the Lion, wishing your little fellow a Happy Birthday from the Savannah of Africa.
