Beauty Abounds – I Choose You!

Creating and creating.  So many of the challenges I like to do have the same deadline.  Even though I try to stagger them, the events of my week intrude on my time in the Studio. So this is a weekend of catch up!

I love playing along with the Colour INKspiration Challenges.  The CI94 colors had me a little perplexed.  Lately, I seem to be exploring the esthetic of clean and simple so I decided to try that with these colors.

Here is what I created:

These are the steps I followed:

• Very Vanilla panel (3⅜” x 4⅝”).  I created a mask with a Post-It-Note and the (1⅞”) Layering Circle Die.  The Seaside Spray color was applied with a Blending Brush using the mask. The sentiment, A friend is someone who chooses you…, is from the Beauty Abounds stamp set stamped with Misty Moonlight ink.  The panel was then dry embossed with the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder.
• Focal Image(s).  The Mango Melody/Misty Moonlight Butterfly was die-cut using both dies from the Butterfly Beauty Dies.  I chose the Butterfly from the lower left of the dies and only cut them out.  They were then layered together.  These dies coordinate with the Beauty Abounds stamp set.  The Crumb Cake Leaf Branch was die-cut with the Forever Flourishing Dies and trimmed to the size I wanted.
• The Panel was matted with Crumb Cake cardstock (3½” x 4¾”).
• All put together on a Very Vanilla card base. (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”)

This is a very subtle card with a pop of yellow.  I like how this card came together.  Don’t you think it is a lucky chance when a Butterfly decides to visit with you?
