Ornate Garden – Thank You

Today, I have created a card to enter in to an International Challenge.  The Theme is Thank You.  There is so much to be grateful for and I enjoy making these types of cards. It is important to acknowledge those that make a difference.

The colors I chose to work with are from Colour INKspiration – CI92.

This is what I created…

For the focal image, I chose to color and fussy cut blooms from the Ornate Garden Specialty Designer Series Paper.  The Stampin’ Blends color palette:  Light and Dark Daffodil Delight mixed with Light Calypso Coral (small blooms), Light Magenta Madness mixed with Dark Cherry Cobbler (mid-size bloom), Light and Dark Calypso Coral (large bloom) and Light Old Olive mixed with Light Shaded Spruce (leaf).

For the background, I chose one of the absolutely gorgeous Forever Gold Specialty Designer Series Paper Laser-Cut backgrounds.  In this case the leaf pattern to compliment the flowers.  I set this upon a Garden Green panel with I matted with Very Vanilla.  I wanted a little texture, so I embossed this panel with the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder.

I considered several colors for the card base…So Saffron…Garden Green…Calypso Coral…and Merry Merlot.  I liked the contrast and the fact that the gold popped against the Merry Merlot.  Carrying that forward, I opted to emboss the very pretty sentiment, Thank You, from the Dragonfly Garden stamp set in White on to a Merry Merlot banner.

Putting it all together, I felt the card needed just a little bit of bling.  The Gold Thread from the Forever Greenery Suite tucked behind the flowers worked really well. 

And there you have it!  Lots of pieces but really a very easy card to create.
