Hi Everyone! It is Tuesday and I am on the ball. I am working with the Case-ing Tuesday #286 Challenge.
I flipped the Sketch 90 degrees and altered a few of the measurements:
- Basic White rectangle (1¾” x 3”)
- Mat (DSP) rectangle (2¼” x 3½”)
- Panel (Embossed) rectangle (3¾” x 5”)
- Standard Card Base (4¼” x 5½”)
This is what I created…
I wanted to give a little love to the Peony Garden Designer Series Paper. Ultimately, I chose to color two blooms from one of the patterned sheets with Stampin’ Blends. The colors selected were Flirty Flamingo, Calypso Coral, Just Jade and Shaded Spruce. I added a generous amount of Glitter with the Wink of Stella Brush. The flowers were fussy cut and added to the card as my focal point.
For my label, I used Basic White card stock and added Just Jade and Flirty Flamingo to the opposite corners with Blending Brushes. This was to tone down the white and match the flowers. Blending Brushes are a nice addition to our current similar coloring tools: Sponge Daubers and Sponges. The sentiment, Happy Birthday, is from the Four Season Floral stamp set.
For the Mat, I wanted to have a soft Just Jade hue and picked the pale knitted pattern from the In Good Taste Designer Series Paper. The color was added using a Blending Brush.
For the highly textured panel, I dry embossed the Flirty Flamingo card stock with the Parisian Flourish 3D Embossing Folder. I thought it went well with the lovely Peony Bloom. Carrying forward the glitter element, I added Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint over the raised texture with a Blending Brush. It looks so very pretty…even if it is a little difficult to see.
The sample card from the new Spring Mini Catalog has a twine/ribbon embellishment and I use a piece of White Flax Ribbon that was still in my stash.
All pieces were set upon a Just Jade card base. I think it all came together very nicely. Wouldn’t you agree?
