Keep Stamping Saturday // Sunday Sketch – SS033

Let’s start with a very Merry, Merry to all that are celebrating at this time of year.  It is Christmas Day and I now have a chance to relax and give myself a little gift.

Did Holiday prep get in the way of your crafting?  It certainly did with me!

Last week Saturday, my Keep Stamping Challenge was to acknowledge Sangria Day by creating a Drinks themed card.  I chose to combine this theme with the SS033 Sunday Sketch.

Here is what I came up with…using a favorite retired stamp set: Sip, Sip, Hooray.  Sending Holiday Cheers to you!

Rooting around in my stash for all things festive, I picked sparkly glimmer papers:  White from Myths & Magic and Red and Green from Joyous Noel.  Following the sketch pattern, I matched the glimmer papers with Smoky Slate patterned papers.

I stamped the Martini Glass on to a Window Sheet with Stazon Jet Black ink.  The Stitched Shapes Circle Dies were used to die-cut the Window Sheet and the Red and White glimmer paper.  I did cut a triangle for the “Sangria” with the Stitched Triangle Dies and then fussy cut the shape to fit the glass.  The retired Cheers Die was used to die-cut the sentiment.  All elements were arranged on to a Cherry Cobbler card base.

I have also decided to enter this card in the current Just Add Ink Inspiration Challenge JAI536.

The side panel in Smoky Slate and White stripe evokes the woodgrain of the fence. The red wine / sangria is inspired by the berries and the ribbon scarf and the green “cheers” greeting mimics the greenery in the tin pitcher. The white glimmer sparkle and the “dotted” pattern paper is for the “snow”man and frost on the greenery.
