Sunday Sketch – SS027

 November 8th, 2020

The 2020 Stampin’ Up! OnStageAtHome Convention was this weekend.  What an exciting experience!

One of the perks of Convention is getting a new stamp set or two that will be available in the new 2021 January – June Catalog.

What fun to use the Dragonfly Garden stamp set and Dandy Garden Designer Series Paper with this week’s sketch.

Isn’t this a great stamp set with wonderful images and really nice sentiments.  The DSP has bold images and colors on one side and softer subtle patterns on the other.  Wonderful layering opportunities.

Designer Series Paper is the star of this show and is supported by a simple sentiment stamped on a banner.

This is what I made:

To add some texture and dimension, a Mossy Meadow mat was embossed with the Subtle 3D embossing folder and the lower right corner was additionally embossed with the Greenery embossing folder.  I like how the Greenery ties in to the Dandelions in the Dandy Garden patterned paper.  Using a Stampin’ Write Marker in Mossy Meadow, I inked only the Thank you part of the sentiment and stamped on a Smoky Slate strip cut to a flag shape.  Color was added with a Bumble Bee In-Color Ribbon bow and a few Bumble Bee In-Color Enamel Dots.

I liked this Sketch layout and decided to create a Christmas card too!  By changing out the colors and the products, a very different look is achieved.

Again, DSP patterns are the prominent feature.  I paired a sheet featuring Cherry Cobbler from Plaid Tidings with the Cherry Cobbler Rustic Tree pattern from limited time offering of Classic Christmas.  The Sahara Sand mat is embossed with the Pinewood Planks embossing folder to carry on the rustic and homey vibe.  The accent color, Shaded Spruce, ties in to plaid pattern.  The sentiment from the Tree Angle stamp set is stamped on to a strip of Shimmery White card stock and cut to the flag shape.  A length of Gold Metallic-Edged Ribbon has been colored green with the Shaded Spruce Stampin’ Blends as were the Clear Epoxy Droplets.

What fun to be inspired to create. So much positive energy generated by a great convention experience!
