Case-ing Tuesday #276 (August – December 2020 Mini Catalog, page 44) and using the colors from the Global Design Project # 265 Color Challenge.
Key elements from the sample in the Mini Catalog include a matted focal image, matted patterned paper panels and an embellishment or two. This is a great layout to use if you want to showcase any type of patterned paper.
This is the card I created…
I chose to use Peony Garden Designer Series Paper for the patterned paper panels. I selected the gray and white pencil sketch of the Peony buds and a complimentary piece in a light and dark gray Herringbone.
Dealers choice for the #GDP265 color challenge this week: Coastal Cabana, Smoky Slate and any other color I wanted to use. I selected Soft Seafoam.
Using Stampin’ Blends, in Coastal Cabana (retired) and Soft Seafoam, I hand colored the Peony buds and the leaves and stems. Pool Party would be a good substitute for Coastal Cabana.
The panels were adhered to a Smoky Slate mat and added to a Coastal Cabana card base.
I chose the Happy Birthday sentiment from the stamp set, By the Dock stamped in Basic Gray on to Whisper White and matted with Coastal Cabana. I used the Stitched Nested Label Dies for this element.
The sentiment label is popped up over a swirl of Silver Metallic Thread that I still had on hand and some Soft Seafoam colored Basic Pearl Jewels were added to complete the card. Stampin’ Blends are perfect to use to color any of the plain colored embellishments to match your project.
