This week? Create a card using the Stained Glass technique with Vellum card stock. Today, I give you an autumnal and a festive card.
Autumn Birthday

I chose the both the Watering Can and Floral images from Country Home. Silver embossed on to Vellum and then colored from the back with a variety of Stampin’ Blends. This is what creates the Stained Glass effect.
The vellum is attached to a piece of Whisper White card stock with a few glue dots. I cut both with the Stitched So Sweetly Scalloped Rectangle Die. Using a white background helps the colors shine.
For the background mat, I stamped the Tin Tile image repeatedly in Smoky Slate on Smoky Slate before I dry embossed with the Tasteful Textile 3D embossing folder.
A Just Jade flag supports the sentiment from Four Season Floral and is heat embossed in white matching the card base.
Festive Poinsettia

I chose to double emboss the Poinsettia image from Four Season Floral in Gold on to the Vellum. The Poinsettia was colored with the Real Red and Old Olive Stampin’ Blends from the back.
I cut the frame with the Stitched Nested Labels Dies in Gold Foil paper. The colored image was affixed behind and over a piece of Whisper White card stock.
The Shaded Spruce background mat was dry embossed with the Wrapped in Texture embossing folder. A retired Cherry Cobbler Ribbon was placed under the gold framed image and wrapped around the mat to match the card base.
I chose not to use a sentiment on the front of the card. Poinsettia’s are a holiday flower and are the focal point of this lovely card. The sentiment is stamped inside the card.
I hope I have given you some simple ideas for using the Stained Glass technique. I think cards turned out really pretty.
Thanks for spending some of your time with me. Cheers, Jolanda
