Sunday Sketch – SS025

 October 18th, 2020

Looking at today’s sketch, I was plum out of ideas.  Christmas, Birthday, Autumn…??

While I made the card for this sketch, all of the decisions were made by my husband, Blair. It has been a long stretch with the Covid-19 lockdown – 216 days and counting.  We have not been able to travel to visit our family in Canada.  Blair is missing his Dad and Zoom just doesn’t seem to cut it!  He wants to send a card to his Dad.

When I showed Blair the Sketch, he thought something Blue and Gray would be nice. We took a tour through the Stampin’ Up! 2020/2021 Annual Catalog and he picked the sentiment from A Good Man and the tree and deer from Snow Front

This is the result.

You Do A Great Job…

The little scene was made from images from the Snow Front stamp set.  Tree (Basic Gray), Water (Misty Moonlight), Deer (Crumb Cake), Leaves (Mango Melody) and Horizon (Smoky Slate).  This is set upon a background Designer Series Paper mat from Wood Textures (now retired).  The sentiment from A Good Man is stamped in Misty Moonlight on a strip of Smoky Slate cardstock.  The side element, as suggested by the sketch, is one of the leaves from the Forever Gold Laser-Cut Specialty Paper.  I sponged the white side with Soft Suede as the gold was a bit too bright for the card.

Blair is very happy with how his vision became a reality.  A subtle guy card that turned out nicely.

Cheers!
