“By the Dock – Summer Remembered”
How much fun it was to sit at the end of the dock? Wasn’t the day lovely? Did you dangle your feet in the water? Was it warm? Oh, those lazy days of summer…
For this card, I sponged the die cut oval in Balmy Blue. From “By the Dock”, I stamped the sentiment and the fish. I then stamped the dock image in Early Espresso and colored it with Stampin’ Blends before cutting it to fit the oval shape.
The background panel features images from the “Waterfront” stamp set. Colors used: Old Olive, Balmy Blue and Crumb Cake.
To mimic the trees, the Pool Party panel was dry embossed with the new “Evergreen Forest 3D” embossing folder. To mimic the water, the bottom inch or so was dry embossed with the “Pinewood Plank3D” embossing folder. I chose Pool Party for the panel because the “Balmy Blue” sponging was lighter and the color match was better.
For the cross strip, I chose to mimic the dock and dry embossed it diagonally with the “Pinewood Planks 3D” embossing folder.
I like how this card turned out. I did flip the sketch because my oval dock scene suited a lower perspective. Here is the sketch diagram.
