Saturday Keep Stamping – Color: Black and White

 August 8th, 2020

Keep Stamping

Keep Stamping is one of my weekly challenges to keep you stamping.  I provide a theme, color combo, technique to learn, a tool to use, or anything else that might pop in to my head.  Your task is to give it a try!

This week my theme is Black and White.  Using these two colors to create my cards.  I give you and me leeway to add a little pop of color if that will enhance the card design,

Yesterday, you were introduced to Simple Stamping and tomorrow you will be introduced to the Sunday Sketch.  You are always welcome to join me by making cards of your own for each challenge or combining all three challenges in one card.

Today, I combined WINGED THINGS with BLACK AND WHITE.

“Butterfly Wishes Birthday”

Easy
When you create a card using one of Stampin’ Up!’s DIST*INK*TIVE stamps ®, such as “Butterfly Wishes”, all the work is pretty much done for you.  DIST*INK*TIVE stamps have a high photo realism resolution and give you very clean and clear stamped image.  DIST*INK*TIVE stamps are perfect for single color stamping.  Don’t you agree?

“No Matter the Weather”

Casual
I decided to have some fun with the theme.  Sometimes the wind grabs that darn umbrella and sends it “winging” along tumble and turvy through the air!

Most often, I will use current product but sometimes something retired that I have in the Studio is just perfect for a concept.  I am sure that I am not the only one that has a few goodies in their stash.

For the wind and the raindrops, I used two retired products because they added the touch of whimsey I wanted.  The swoosh from “Star of Light” and the “Beads & Baubles” embossing folder.

The umbrella and the boots have been embossed with White embossing powder.  It is very difficult to see but there are also Clear embossed raindrops on the umbrella.  I had fun making this card.

“Birthday Wishes”

Avid

For this card, I added a pop of color, Calypso Coral.  This is much more graphic design and the black color is more prominent.   The “Well Written” dies do all the work.  One small word from “Wish For Everything” is stamped in Calypso Coral to coordinate with the butterfly and the ribbon accent.

Post the card(s) you make using Black and White on my Facebook Post:
