I have been a subscriber of Paper Pumpkin since the kits were introduced several years ago. Paper Pumpkin is a little red (most often) box that comes directly to your home every month. As a subscriber you are provided with everything you need to explore your creativity and discover new ways to craft.
Each box comes with a variety of projects (most often cards) and I will make one of each of the projects suggested in the box but I do not always use all of materials. I love to create alternative cards with the remaining kit contents.
I have been spending more time in my Studio crafting due to the corona virus (Yeah!). One of things I have done is to create challenges for myself. Paper Pumpkin Play Date is just that. Each week, I pull out a box and see what is still inside…what will I / shall I make with the contents?
Today’s box was the JULY 2018 – Picnic Paradise kit. A colorful, fresh, bright kit full of summer picnic fruits and baskets.
In yesterday’s paper, all the Wednesday shopping flyers were promoting blueberries. Do you like blueberries? I love them! Most especially in pancakes with Lemon Curd on top.
Anyway, I think this influenced my choice of the blue color and the green accent from the kit when making my two Birthday cards. Blue and white is always a fresh combination reminiscent of those last summer days. The cards are gender neutral but the one with the blueberries is a little more masculine and the one with the mason jar vase is a little more feminine and was made for someone specific in mind. I am very happy with these cards!
