Design Team Time for Facebook’s Case-ing Tuesday (#588), where we select cards from the Catalogs and remake them as we are inspired. Today’s inspiration can be found on page 52 of the Sep – Dec 2026 Catalog with a few tweaks.
My design choices were influenced by Shopping Our Stash (#585) If the Shoe Fits; Alphabet (Letter M) for a Motivational Sentiment; and Inspired By (#412) for the Colors and the Polka Dot Candy Wrap.
Sharing with Triple B (#2610) for Orange Flowers & Butterflies and Make My Monday (#289) to use Orange.
Here is the result:
Steps:
- Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Calypso Coral cardstock.
- Accent Mat: (4” x 5¼”) Basic Black cardstock
- Background Panel: (3⅞” x 5⅛”) Timid Tiger cardstock.
- The sentiment, The best friends come in all shapes and sizes…just like fabulous shoes, from the retired Fabulous You stamp set was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with Black Embossing Powder.
- Rectangle Panel: (3” x 3¾”) Black and White Polka Dot patterned piece of paper from the Artisan Sketched Garden Designer Series Paper pack, an On-Line Exclusive Product. Alternate Diagonal Dot Lines were colored with the Dark Timid Tiger Stampin’ Blends Marker.
- Shape – Elongated Oval: (4” x 2¼”) Smoky Slate cardstock die-cut with the Oval Insert die from the new Timeless Celebrations Hybrid Embossing Folder Dies, an On-Line Exclusive Product available in November. The Oval was then dry-embossed with the Lazy Daisy 3D Embossing Folder, still available but now on the Last Chance List.
- Decoration – Shoe: (2” x 4¼”) Basic White cardstock.
- The Floral / Fauna Shoe image from the Fabulous You stamp set was also stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with Black Embossing Powder.
- The Shoe designs were colored with Stampin’ Blends Markers. Colors chosen: Leaves – Light Smoky Slate and Floral and Butterfly elements – Light Petal Pink, Light and Dark Timid Tiger and Light and Dark Pumpkin Pie.
- The Shoe was then fussy-cut with Detail Scissors.
- Strips – Ribbons: retired Calypso Coral Satin Ribbon and Basic Black Shimmer Ribbon.
All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble a variation of the sketch. The Shoe was popped up with Dimensionals.
A Halloween inspired friendship card…
