Design Team Time for Facebook’s Case-ing Tuesday (#583), where we select cards from the Catalogs and remake them as we are inspired. Today’s inspiration can be found on page 31 of the Sep – Dec 2026 Catalog.
My design choices were influenced by The Male Room (#214) to add Dots and/or Stripes; AAA Birthday (#89) to use Patterned Papers; and sharing with Creative Crafters (#104) Anything Goes.
Here is the result:
Steps:
- Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Cloud Cover cardstock.
- Background Panel: (4” x 5¼”) Pretty Peacock Dotted patterned paper from the retired Garden Walk Designer Series Paper pack.
- Cross Strip: (4” x 2½”) Cloud Cover / Pretty Peacock Diagonal Striped patterned piece of paper from the same paper pack.
- Banner (1): (2½” x 1¼”) Pretty Peacock card scrap die-cut with the (1”) Stitched Banner die from the Stylish Shapes Dies set, an On-line Exclusive product.
- Banner (2): (2” x ¾”) Basic White cardstock scrap die-cut with the (⅝”) Stitched Banner die from the same dies set.
- Shape (1) – Circle: (2½” x 2½”) Cloud Cover cardstock die-cut with the (2⅛”) Stitched Circle die from the same dies set.
- The sentiment, Birthday Wishes, from the retired Simply Said stamp set was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with White Embossing Powder.
- Shapes (2) & (3) – Boats: Pretty Peacock and Basic White cardstock scraps die cut with the two smaller Boat and Sails dies from the retired Sunrise Sailing Dies set.
- Using Cloud Cover ink and a Blending Brush color was added to the Sails.
All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch. The Sentiment Circle and Boats were popped up with Mini Dimensionals.
An attractive monochromatic masculine birthday card.
