Picture Perfect Birthday

Welcome back!  A brand-new week and I am playing with Black & White.

Choosing elements from the Festive Friday (#215) Inspiration Board…colors, subject matter and adding frames.

My design choices were influenced by Krafty Chicks (#832) for a birthday card and the suggested sketch, flipped, from Paper Craft Crew (#684).

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Basic Black cardstock.
• Background Panel: (5¼” x 4”) Basic White cardstock dry-embossed with the Exposed Brick 3D Embossing Folder.
• Cross Strip: (5¼” x ⅞”) Black and White Dotted patterned piece of paper from the Zoo Crew Designer Series Paper pack.
• Frames: (5” x 1¾”) Basic Black cardstock die-cut with the (1½” x 1½”) Stitched Square die from the Stylish Shapes Dies set.
• Focal Image – Landscape: (4¼” x 1¾”) Basic White cardstock.
  • The Treed Pasture Landscape image from the Far Away Landscapes stamp set was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
  • The image was trimmed to (3¾” x 1¼”) and cut into three (1¼” x 1¼”) squares.
• Sentiment Label: Basic Black cardstock scrap.
  • The sentiment, Happy Birthday, from the Wild Bunch stamp set, the June 2026 Exclusive Product of the Month, was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with White Embossing Powder and then trimmed to (2” x ⅜”).

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the flipped sketch.  The Frames and the Sentiment were popped up with Dimensionals.  Three black Classic Matte Dots were added to complete the card.

Classic Black and White.  A super birthday card for anyone.
