A Little Birthday Hello

Welcome to August!  A happy little card for you today…

Inspire Create (#221) is asking for us to CASE (Copy and Selectively Edit) a card.  I chose a card created by Jamie Babarczy that I admired on Pinterest.

My design was influenced by Double D (#260715) for a favorite fruit and mine is summer berries.

I am sharing this card with Cupcake Inspirations (#639) for a red, white and blue color palette and Seize the Birthday (#331) to create a square card with a non-white base.

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 4¼” scored at 4¼”) Night of Navy cardstock.
• Accent Mat: (3⅞” x 3⅞”) Basic White cardstock.
• Diagonal Split Background Panel: (3¾” x 3¾”) Berry Fruit and Real Red Sprinkle patterned pieces of paper from the retired Tutti Fruitti Designer Series Paper pack cut on the diagonal.
• Accent Strip: (5½” x ¼”) Night of Navy Dotted patterned piece of paper from the same paper pack.
• The sentiment, Just a little Hello, from the Cutest Crew stamp set, an On-Line Exclusive product was stamped with Night of Navy ink, as was the sentiment, Happy Birthday, on the inside of the card.
  • The sentiment was die-cut with the (2¾” x 1½”) Elongated Octagonal die from the Forever Florals Dies set, also and On-Line Exclusive product.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble Jamie’s card.  A length of White Baker’s Twine was wrapped around the matted panel and tied with a Bow.  The sentiment was popped up with Dimensionals and a few retired Red Rhinestone Basic Jewels were added for bling.

A fresh summer birthday card!
