Christmas in July – Woodland Wishes

So, it is almost that time when we celebrate the Holiday half-year and so many challenges are featuring this theme.

Starting with Jingle Belles (#2615) for a “Unicorn Christmas” to use non-traditional colors.

And selecting Double Trouble (#221) 3-2-1 Recipe for Colors, Layers, and a Holiday Image with a twist to partner with Jingle Belles and Try A Sketch on Tuesday (#700) for the Layout.

Additionally, I am sharing this card with Alphabet – Letter “F” for Festivities; Make My Monday (#282); Inkspirational (#372); Little Red Wagon (#868); Crafter’s Café (#332); and Addicted to Stamps & More (#522).

Here is the result using papers found in my scrap bin:

WOODLAND WISHES – JOLLY HOLIDAY

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Basic White cardstock.
  • Upper Panel: Using the Tree die from the retired Majestic Mountains Dies set, five trees were die-cut from Marina Mist, Magenta Madness and Just Jade cardstock scraps. The Trees were fanned out to resemble the “rays” suggested by the sketch.
  • Strip Accent: (5½” x ¼”) Brushed Gold cardstock scrap.
  • Lower Panel: (5½” x 1½”) Color Dashed patterned piece of paper from the Abstract Beauty Specialty Designer Series Paper pack.
  • Accent Circle: (2½” x 2½”) Brushed Gold cardstock punched out with the (2¼”) Circle Punch.
  • Focal Image – Polar Bear: ((2½” x 2½”) Basic White cardstock.
    • The Bear image from the Woodland Wishes stamp set, an On-Line Exclusive product, was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and highlighted with the Light Hydrangea Hue Stampin’ Blends Marker.
    • The image was die-cut with the (2⅛”) Stitched Circle die from the Stylish Shapes Dies set.
  • Greeting- Jolly: Brushed Gold cardstock scrap die-cut with the word Jolly die from the retired Christmas Greetings Thinlits Dies set.

Having fun with color for a cute holiday card. What do you think?
