Woodland Wishes – Christmas Cheer

A clean and simple single layer holiday card for you today.

Smashing together several challenges:

Jingle Belles (#2611) and Krafty Chicks (#824) with Facebook’s Global Design Project (#551) and Critter Crazy (#111) along with Alphabet (Letter D).

Choosing to add a frame for Addicted to CAS (#310) and the palette suggested by Color Dare (#707).

Here is the result:

WOODLAND WISHES – JB2611 – KCC824 – GDP511 – 2CCCB111 – ACB Letter D – ATCAS310 – CD707

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Basic White Thick cardstock.
  • All images are from the new Woodland Wishes stamp set, an On-Line Exclusive product.
    • The Bear image was stamped onto the Silicone Craft Sheet with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  The card front was pressed onto it to get the reverse / mirror image.
    • Another Bear image was then stamped again directly to the card front.
    • Two Bears were stamped on to a Post-It-Note and fussy cut with Detail Scissors and used as Masks.
    • With the Masks in place, the Deer image was then stamped.
    • Using the Simply Scored Scoring Tool, a (3½”) Square Frame was embossed around the Animals.
    • The Sentiment, Bird, Stars and Greenery images were added with in the Frame.
    • The scene was colored with Stampin’ Blends Markers:  Colors chosen: Bears – Light Azure Afternoon, Bubble Bath and Color Lifter; Deer – Light and Dark Crumb Cake (Neutral) with Light Bubble Bath and Color Lifter for the Spots; Bird – a mix of Light Bubble Bath and Cherry Cobbler; Stars – Dark Golden Glow (Gold); Greenery – Light Pretty Peacock; Snow and Shadows – Light Cloud Cover (Neutral) and Color Lifter.

  1. Ok I loooooove this, but I’m totally regretting that I didn’t think to SCORE a frame around the design on my card bc that is VERY VERY cool!! (also i’m taking notes on the perfect way you’ve colored the polar bears!!!) Thanks for joining our Flat Feliz Navidad fun at Jingle Belles!

  2. This is really darling! I love how you colored the bears (I usually use gray, but I love the blue!) as well as the scored square frame. Thank you for sharing at Color Dare!
