Watercolored Floral – Birthday Celebrations

Welcome back!  Friday already…where did the week go?

Clean and Simple for Addicted to CAS (#307) with a Birthday theme and AAA Cards (#313) with a Color Palette mixed with Double D (#260506) for Watercolor.

I opted to create my own watercolored design with the colors and some doodling and here is the result:

HAND DRAWN DOODLED FLORAL – ATCAS307 – AAACC313 – DD260506

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Soft Sea Foam cardstock.
  • Card Front: (4” x 5¼”) Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper.
    • Watercoloring:
      • Using Water Painters, color was applied to the panel in stages, allowing for dry time.  Floral colors from center to outer edge were Timid Tiger, Petunia Pop (R), Highland Heather and Bubble Bath done with a wet-on-wet treatment by picking up ink from a Clear Block.
    • Doodling:
      • Using the Black Journaling Pen, the Floral Petals were drawn on as was the Frame with the sentiment, birthday celebrations, running along the bottom edge.
    • Finishing Details:
      • The Leaves were added after the fact and painted with Soft Sea Foam ink.
      • Additional depth of color was added to the Flower and Leaves for a more dimensional look.
      • The Fine Splatter image from the retired Itty Bitty Backgrounds stamp set was added using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

And that is it!

Loving the clean and simple styling for this Birthday card.
