Words and Wishes – Happy Birthday

Welcome back!  A pretty birthday card for you today…

The challenges: Over at Just Us Girls (#822), we are asked to use dies and specifically a sentiment die and Krafty Chicks (#819) has a birthday theme.

I opted for the TGIF (#575) color scheme and Facebook’s Global Design Project (#546) sketch.

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Coastal Cabana cardstock.
• Background Panel: (4” x 5¼”) Basic Beige cardstock.
• Circle Shape: (4¼” x 4¼”) Crumb Cake cardstock die-cut with the (3⅞”) Radiating Stitches Circle die from the Spotlight on Natures Dies set.
• Decoration – Tulip Vase: Fussy-cut Floral element for one of the Floral patterned papers in the Artisan Stitched Garden Designer Series Paper pack.
  • The Tulip Vase was colored with Stampin’ Blends Markers.  Colors chosen: Blooms – Light and Dark Melon Mambo; Leaves – Light and Medium Coastal Cabana (retired) Stampin’ Blendabilities; and Vase – Light and Dark Crumb Cake.
• Die-Cut Sentiment: (4¼” x 3”) Melon Mambo cardstock die-cut with the words, Happy and Birthday, from the Words & Wishes Dies set.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch. A few Coastal Cabana Shimmering Dots were added for a bit of bling.

Keeping it simple and letting the Flowers be the star of the show.
