Peace and Joy

Hi again!  A little Holiday Cheer for you today.

The challenges: Over at Jingle Belles (#2609), the theme is related to Earth Day and to upcycle materials on hand.  As such, I went through my bins of bits and pieces left over from various projects.

My design was influenced by Just Us Girls (#821) to CASE (Copy and Selectively Edit) a card created by a Design Team member and I selected the card created by Vicki Dutcher for layout, floral element and embellishments.

I opted to also take inspiration from the Color Dare (#701) Palette choosing the Red and Green colors.

Here is the result:

REASON FOR THE SEASON – JB2609 – JUGS821 – CD701

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Real Red cardstock.
  • Background Panel: Garden Green Diagonal Striped patterned piece of paper from the retired Garden Walk Designer Series Paper pack.
  • Accent Mat: Real Red cardstock previously die-cut with the (3”) Stitched Circle die from the Stylish Shapes Dies set.
  • Focal Circle: Wreath patterned piece of paper from the retired Joyful Days Memories & More Card Pack previously die-cut with the (2⅝”) Circle die from the retired Layering Circles Framelits Dies set.
  • Floral Decoration – Poinsettia: Real Red Polka Dot patterned pieces of paper from the retired Take a Bow Designer Series Paper pack.
    • The Poinsettia image from the retired Reason for the Season stamp set was stamped twice with Secret Sea ink and then fussy-cut with Paper Snips.
  • Sentiment Label: A received Holiday card cut apart and the phrase, peace and joy, was clipped and trimmed from the interior greeting.  Size is (1⅞” x ½”).
    • Using a Sponge Dauber, the edges of the Label were colored with Garden Green ink.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble Vicki’s card. The fussy-cut Poinsettia Center and the Sentiment were popped up with Dimensionals.  Retired Gold Glitter Enamel Dots, still in my stash were added for a bit of bling.

A pretty Holiday card put together with bits and pieces.  Just surprised I could still identify where they came from.  The Internet can be your hero in these matters.

Thank you for popping by.  I hope you enjoyed your time here and that you have a fantastic day!  If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask.  I’d be happy to help you.

Cheers,  Jolanda!
