Song Sung Blue – Monochromatic Floral Card

Welcome back!  A brand-new week.  The start of more creativity…

The challenges: Can You Handle the Pressure (#260411) for a Blue-on-Blue embossing twist which I tied into Little Red Wagon (#854) That Song for “Song Sung Blue”.

Design choices were influenced by: Just Us Girls (#819) – Spring Flowers and Tic Tac Toe (#290) diagonal – Encouragement, Floral / Foliage and FREE for which I chose Die-Cuts.

Bringing it all together, I selected the Inkspirational (#365) suggested sketch in A2 format.

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Night of Navy cardstock.
• Background Panel: (4” x 5¼”) Hydrangea Hue Two-Tone cardstock (dark side) dry embossed with the recently retired All in a Row Embossing Folder which was lightly sanded to highlight the white core pattern.
• Blocks: (7” x 1¾”) Night of Navy cardstock die-cut with the (1½” x 1½”) Stitched Square die from the Stylish Shapes Dies set.
• Decoration – Flowers & Foliage: (4” x 1½”) Hydrangea Hue Two-Tone cardstock (light side) and (4¼” x 1½”) Hydrangea Hue cardstock die-cut with the Floral Cluster and Leaf dies from the Forever Florals Dies set, an On-Line Exclusive product.
• Sentiment Label: Basic White cardstock scrap.
  • The sentiment, I know you’ll get through this and be stronger for it, from the Inspiring Imperfections stamp set, still available but now on the Last Chance List, was stamped with Night of Navy ink and then die-cut with the Label die from the Paradise Garden Hybrid Embossing Folder dies.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch.  The Sentiment was popped up with Mini Dimensionals and a few blue Dewdrop Embellishments, now retired, were added to complete the card.
