Purr-haps – Cutest Crew

Welcome back!  Friday already.  How does the week go by so fast?

A few challenges…Double D (#260401) is looking for something humorous, something I have very little of in my collection, but I will give it a go.

Choosing the Stampin’ Up! Only (#698) Colors and the Freshly Made (#731) Sketch to bring my ideas together.

Here is the result:

CUTEST CREW – DD260401 – SUOC398 – FMS731

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Pretty in Pink cardstock.
  • Focal Panel: (4” x 5¼”) Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper.
    • Using a (1”) Craft Paint Brush, from my tool stash, the Six Blocks were watercolored with the Peach Pie, Pretty in Pink and Lemon Lolly inks.
    • The drying process was sped up with the Heat Tool.
    • Using the retired Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker, individual Cats and Butterflies images, from the Cat stamp found in the Cutest Crew stamp set, an On-Line Exclusive product, were colored separately and stamped onto the painted blocks, as were the Flowers from the Dog stamp.
    • Using the Stampin’ Up! Journaling Pen, doodled frames were added to the painted blocks and small details were added to the Cats (toes), Butterflies (bodies) and Flowers (centers).
  • Sentiment Label: Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper scrap watercolored Pink.
    • Using the Journaling Pen, the sentiment, purr-haps we should play, was hand-lettered and then die-cut with the Label die from the Paradise Garden Hybrid Embossing Folder Dies, another On-Line Exclusive product.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch.  The Sentiment Label was popped up with Mini Dimensionals.

A sweet card with a simple pun.
